This focus area highlights the importance of 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗶𝗴𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴. These measures ensure pigs can move 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘆 and maintaint their 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵. By identifying and promoting best practices in space allowance and flooring, WelFarmers aims to support improvements in pig welfare across Europe.

This theme explore effective methods to reduce or eliminate pain during pig castration. Key approaches include the use of 𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮/𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗴𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗮, 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, and 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀. On April 3rd and 4th, the 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 took place in Lleida, Spain.

The first day included a full Consortium Meeting session, a guided visit to the historic Seu Vella, and a networking dinner.

On Friday morning, discussions continued with another productive meeting session. After lunch at the Chamber of Commerce of Lleida, all WelFarmers members had the opportunity to visit the Grupo Vall Companys 𝟓.𝟎 farm — a cutting-edge example of innovation in the livestock sector
